Artist Bio

Kara Marie White

Originally from Hoffman Estates, Illinois, Kara White is an art education and art therapy student with a minor in art history at Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She has known since she was in 1st grade that she wanted to be an art educator, so she has taken as many art classes as she possibly could in her high school and college career. Her goal to have a basic understanding of all medias and continue to grow from there. 

Kara is working on an associates degree at Harper College, in business management along side her bachelor's degree, to help assist her long-term partner's dream of owning an art gallery.  She has also begun to apply to schools to become a certified sign language translator in order to better assist her community. 

She is currently one of the co-presidents of Alverno College's Art & Entrepreneurship club, a docent at the Alverno Art & Cultures Gallery, and enjoys participating in events such as the SEA conference held in Chicago. 

Kara has been commissioned through Alverno to create an art piece that was awarded to an Alumina in the spring of 2022. And has collaborated on two permanent instillations located on the Alverno College campus. Her work has only been displayed in one gallery showing, the Spring into the Arts juried show at Alverno's Arts & Cultures Gallery in March of 2022. In high school she was a member of National Art Honors Society and a stage manager for all school productions, in charge on all art, advertising, sets and props. She is now part of the American Art Society.
